We've got to do something to make Soccer more popular here in the states. It's all about marketing! [}:)]
Top Ten Proposed New Soccer Slogans:
10. It's like basketball without all the scoring.
9. When curling is just too exciting for you.
8. With uniforms like that, who needs action?
7. Bringing large groups of violent, drunken hooligans together since 1863.
6. If it's good enough for the Euros, it's good enough for you!
5. More flopping than a deck full of flounders!
4. Even better than a "Deadliest Catch" rerun!
3. From the same people that brought you cricket, croquet and blood pudding.
2. Watch carefully- someone might accidentally kick one in!
1. Soccer- 2 hours, 1 goal.

Soccer. Finally, an alternative to watching paint dry.
Or
Soccer - Twenty two men, but only one ball.

I think soccer should reduce the number of players to increase scoring. or add 'enforcers" to protect the star players.
or every time there is a foul, we should let the guy get a real "free kick" to kick it into the goal with no defenders. (they might get up to Boston Celtic scores then!)
or if a guy scores a goal, maybe the other team could intentionally kick a ball at his head to "send him a message".
or let them wear shoulder pads.
just some ideas.

In case you missed it, today's game featured 5(!) goals (heck, that's more than an NHL game!) a post game skirmish and all in the time it takes to play the last 2 minutes of an NBA game or any one inning of a baseball game!!

I actually make that funky two-fingered goal sign after any particularly good performance in bed.

Do you still wave the little white flag like they used to? (Don't think that's part of their ritual anymore.)

hehe [;)]
No, the white flag has gone (from the Professional league anyway). the 2 finger drop down for a goal and one finger for a point still exist.
We basically took Gaelic and Rugby and made a new sport for people to get hurt playing for the gratification of others [:)]
I work within sports medicine so it keep me a job too, cause its amazingly bad for your knees and shoulders.

Too bad they ditched the white trench coat and hat...it was like viewing another world when I watched Aussie Rules - so different, so strange.

I believe they did away with the white flag as part of the "Dido" clause a few years ago. You can still fetch a pretty penny for those flags on Ebay France where they seem to be quite popular.
How about this one: "Soccer- it's bubuzeltastic!"
