Does anyone happen to have an mp3 of the Montreal Expos version of Talkin' Baseball from around '81 or '82?

I'll never forget "Blue Monday" in 1981 when the Expos lost Game 5 of the NLCS to the Dodgers. We actually were released from school early to watch the game!

As much as I remember and love the early 80's Expos, the early 90's Expos with Larry Walker and Marquis Grissom were definitely a better team all around.

The Expos were on top with a 74-40 record in 1994, on pace to win over 100 games, when the season got cancelled by the players strike. In the off season they unloaded all their talent. In my opinion, that was the death knell for the organization and ultimately led to them becoming the Washington Nationals. I can't bring myself to watch the Nationals play to this day.

The Penguin was my favorite player at the time and this was a magical season for the Dodgers. Back then, we had no professional team and Vin Scully and the Dodgers were our team. I lost interest in them in the late 80's and then when the D-Backs got here they have become the enemy.

Urgh! Your Fernando held the Expos to 1 run on Blue Monday and then when Rogers (our star starting pitcher!) came into the game in the 9th, he retired the first two Dodgers before Rick Monday homered to win the series. I remember well the crushing defeat. We were all so sure the Expos were heading to the World Series. Sigh. Those were exciting times.

"Reardon's coming in to save the day" ...nice.

That song was silly.

I have an Expos shirt, really just for the irony. I live in Virginia BTW and I'm NOT a Nationals fan.

There's a whole lot of silly sports related songs I've happened to have heard when I worked at the record warehouse. One I tried to find online but couldn't was "The Ballad of Fernando Valenzuela" it's pretty hilarious if you ever get to hear it. I also liked one called "We're gonna win that cup" by the 1975 Buffalo Sabres...they didn't btw.

I have a 7" single from a 'group' called the Big Blue Wrecking Crew, namely Steve Yeager, Rick Monday, Jay Johnstone and Jerry Reuss, covering 'We Are the Champions' and 'New York, New York'. Yes, it's terrible. No idea where or why I got it.

Man, an Expo thread! Just look at the talent that went through Montreal over the years, Carter, Dawson, Cromartie, Guerrerro, Walker, Grissom, Randy Johnson, Wallach, Raines, Razor Shines....
