Just picked up a copy of the White Rose Movement " Kick" ..
probably getting hyped to death back in my homeland ( UK )
but it's a pretty immediate album .. shades of OMD ,GANG OF FOUR, HUMAN LEAGUE , DM nothing very original but the overall execution is spot on .

It's true they sometimes sound a lot like bands from the 80's (I would add Duran Duran to your list [:)]), maybe that's why I like them.

Rather than hyped, they seem to be getting slammed a bit by reviewers over there ("derivative" mostly). I do think their sound needs some more development. However they are entertaining as all hell in concert/ Taxxi is just smokin' behind her keyboards. Owen Dyke has a pretty cool bass style, and I've mentioned before that Finn Vine projects a darkly charismatic look that's - I hate to say it - kinda reminiscent of a certain passed Manchester icon. A bit more style than substance at this point, but a lot of fun anyway...and why not enjoy a little style and attitude sometimes.
