What music style do these three bands belong to?

Doves
Elbow
The Dears

Any suggestions?

They all sound radically different but would be grouped under "Indie-Rock". The Dears sound like The Smiths though.

Somewhere in between indie and brit pop I would say.

Doves is one of those great bands in the Manchester tradition.
