What do you think is the best new album you've heard this year?

For me, it's Alejandro Escovedo - The Boxing Mirror

Nothing's stood out head-n-shoulders. Seems like 06 is getting off to a slow start for me compared to a rousing 05. Some of these are good nothing I'd call "the best" yet:

Snow Patrol - Eyes Open
Morrissey - Ringleader of the Tormentors
The Strokes - First Impressions of Earth

Wasn't Editors last year? If we're talking 06 US releases, then I'd certainly add the Editors and have Goldfrapp's Supernature cleanly on top.

Ahhhh... and last... I'm not paying 74 pesos to buy Editors' album.... nope..... I want to but it'd be a rip off.

With 74 pesos you could pay the phone bill or the Internet service of a house, buy a pair of expensive trousers, feed a 4-member family for like 4 days.

If I was surprised by the fact that Panorama knew who José Gonzalez was, I even more surprised by the fact he knows who Juana Molina is.
Juana Moline is an argentinian song-writer that was also one of the best comedy actresses that we ever had. Her show was very edgy and with a type of humour that was not understood by many argentinians.
At a moment she felt like she couldn't do her show anymore (think it was a time progression thing) and retired. Then she started making music very independently until she was discovered by David Byrne who asked her to become his opening act.

I'm in instructive mode today, sorry.
