I used to mock the holdout hippies who didn't like anything after 1969.

I made fun of the burnouts who only listened to music from the 70s.

Now, I'm of the belief that very, very few good songs were written after 1988.

And I thought I was going to be different.

I'm glad I found this forum of folks who have the same appreciation that I do of new wave, but I have to ask:

Am I in the minority here in that I am willingly stuck in the 80s new wave genre and have very little desire to want to listen to anything else?

Yeah, I thought the same when I found this site. I live in a small city with less than optimal radio choices, and I've never had satellite radio. I just operated under the assumption that rap and crappy AOR was all that was being produced these days. After reading the opinions of people in this site, in particular this thread, I now have a host of newer CD's that I would never have heard of otherwise. Groups like Arcade Fire, The Brakes, The Cinematics, The Editors, Interpol, etc. I am running out of storage space and have less money, but its great to discover new music (and even old music you never heard before). Keep tabs here and you will be led to both by all the good people here.

Not to worry you are not alone, many of us have discovered the tiny part of the web by accident and never left. So welcome to the forum and enjoy. And yes GOD Bless satellite redio....XM 44 (Fred)....

You just have to open up your ears like you did in the 80's. Just about every band suggested on this page can be found on youtube or dozens of streaming audio sites.
