First off, I want to thank the members who have posted about Cut Copy in the past.

After reading several reviews I decided to purchase "In Ghost Colours".

Well after 5 complete listens I surprisingly like it. There are many reasons not to like it, most of all the cheesy lyrics, but I find it captures the mid 80's (84-87) so perfectly well. And there are just enough guitars to pass my personal litmus test. It's very polished and may be too “poppy” for our most discerning listeners, but I highly recommend it.

Edit: BTW - Out There On Thin Ice, Hearts of Fire would have been huge club hits back in the day!!

I wanted to post a few comments from reviews of their previous album:

Stylus Magazine
"Bright Like Neon Love may be too rock for the dance heads and too dance for the rockists, but for those without ideological hang-ups, it should be merely one of the most fun and exciting releases of the year."

Almost Cool
"Sounds sort of like a cross between a more mainstream New Order and Daft Punk."

This one's for Blir:

The Guardian
"The results are both familiar and fresh and should delight anyone disappointed by New Order's recent album." [:D]

Really enjoying this one too ... definitely a Top 10 shoo-in for '08. There are many moments reminiscent of early 80's ELO when Jeff Lynne & co. traded their strings for synths, like the chorus on "So Haunted".

Everyone I've talked with discovers different reminiscent moments, that's kinda cool. I'm hearing a Bryan Ferry sounding chorus in "Nobody Lost, Nobody Found". I think there is something there for everyone.
