back in 93 i heard of this band, i think crank was their song...

They have a decent body of work. Their first album "Ferment" is epic. Rob Dickinson has since gone solo and doing pretty well. Would love to see those guys reunite.

Not really what I would consider "Next Wave". Dickinson's voice reminds me a bit of Mark Burgess and the "wall of guitar" is reminiscent of Husker Du but the overall sound is not overtly influenced by New Wave.

Aside from that, I really like Catherine Wheel. For me, the "Ferment" album never gets old. "Texture", "I Want To Touch You", "Black Metallic" and "Tumbledown" are favorites. HEAVY guitar but melodic and never grating.
