Sounds like any number of interchangeable pop dance artists. What happened to the distinctive sound they used to have?

Honestly, if someone told me that was Ashley Simpson, I would have no reason not to believe it. It could also just as easily have been done by Kylie Minogue, Janet Jackson or __________________ (fill in commercial disco diva here).

Not at all like their early electro-lounge stuff which I really enjoyed.

Likewise, I'm going to have to snatch some extra time to cop another feel of the album.

Honestly, this effort really does feel limp. It's almost like with Belle and Sebastian for me...at some point, I just don't know where else there is for Saint Etienne to go. Last thing I really loved was actually Sarah Cracknell's solo Lipslide...OMG, that was 1997!

Edit: I'm also notorious for sometimes being slow on the uptake of certain bands only to be floored for some strange reason much later (um, Fleet Foxes, Seventh Tree, etc).
