Several solid choices on there, Daniel. My favorites of the bunch are Blacq Audio, Cut Copy, Friendly Fires, and Klaxons. I'll check out some of your other recommendations for sure, though I'll likely give Paris Hilton a miss [8D] Infernal sounds particularly intriguing.

Are you familiar with Guillemots? Check out their album "Red", particularly the first track "Kriss Kross" (which thankfully has nothing to do with the preadolescent rap group of the same name).

yeah. people like Paris and hilary aren't exactly on the list becuas of the artists, but more about the people writing, producing and remixing the songs, which can be said about quite a lot of pop stars these days...I'm usually more about particular songs than entire albums by certain artists. I also have an affinity for cheesy synthpop, so that kind of stuff qualifies. I will definitely check out Guillemots. Thanks for the recommend.

If you like good synthpop, you should like Guillemots. Actually the song I mentioned (Kriss Kross) starts with a killer synth riff and then switches to guitars. Here's a link to the video:
