Molchat Doma anyone?

Discussions about the new generations of bands influenced by '80s New Wave and Postpunk

Molchat Doma anyone?

They’re from Belarus I believe… non-English lyrics. Just discovered by me; looks like they released their third album this year. Their debut is the album I’m most fond of. Very indicative of the original era yet not copying any particular band’s sound.

Kudos to my hip local record store for playing them in-store and turning me on to their work. You’ll find them on Spotify; I of course had to buy the vinyl.

They have had 3 albums and 3 singles from 2017, all in Russian.

The name is translated as "Houses keep silent".

From a local source:
a Belarusian rock band from Minsk, combining post-punk, synth-pop and new wave in their work.
The musical project was formed in Minsk in 2017. The founders are Egor Shkutko and Roman Komogortsev.
In April 2017, a debut album called "From the Roofs of Our Houses" was released, which included 9 tracks. After some time, the group releases the single "Kommersants". In 2018, an album called "Floors" was released, which entered the top twenty best albums of 2018 according to British critics.

If you are after some recent new wave in Russian, check out Shortparis, a Russian band, on top of local indie charts. Spotify has them.

I have their first two albums "Floors" and "From the Roof of our Houses" or something like that . Like their sound; guitars reminds me a little bit of JD. I prefer Molchat to Motorama (Dear god...what a boring band!)
Are you going to start screwing over Redo like you screwed over MSK with your endless requests? what an idiot you turned out to be MATT
