I discovered these guys only last year with their excellent and challening Before the Dawn Heals Us album. I finally got around to picking up 2003's Dead Cities, Red Seas & Lost Ghosts. Holy crap! What an amazing sonic landscape! These guys have created something pretty unique. Kinda grating but also very pleasing to the ears on a bizarre way. Any fans here? Any other stuff I should be tracking down?

Am I not hearing guitars on stuff like Don't Save Us From the Flames? Is it all just samples and synths? That's a rocking song regardless! There's others like it too...as I go off singing "A time for guitars, a time for keyboards, a time for drums, a time for drum pads, a time for peace, I swear it's not too late." Okay, getting late and punchy.

I downloaded a couple of their songs (I think it was on your recommendation, Blir). "Teen Angst" and "Unrecorded". Good stuff.

I'd say the songs that have struck me so far are:

And Swamp could be right...mix in some more guitars and they [i]could[/i] be a better Epoxies.

I think they have a more Dreampop/Shoegaze sound - only electro instead of guitar. I likes 'em alot.

<p align="justify">Definitely a DreamPop/Shoegaze sound with some wussy and whiny lyrics and vocals. I'll have to listen to a few more songs before I decide to buy. I most likely will based on the instrumentation alone, but I don't know yet if this will be on repeat or if I will shelve this for years[}:)]

This gig is highly recommended BTW. Just a bouncey good time. Despite the popalicious goodness of the new album tracks like "Graveyard Girl" and "Kim and Jessie", the highlight was easily old standby "Don't Save Us From the Flames" - a rip-freakin-roaring affair with serious serious bass thump.

Not the best quality but captures the spirit really well:

Opener School of Seven Bells was also very engaging. It didn't hurt that the twin sisters fronting the band were quite lovely. Really trippy dream pop that any Cocteau fan is bound to like. Far more psychedlic live than on their studio cuts.

Am I the only one who swears he's hearing an undiscovered B-side from Prefab Sprout's "Jordan the Comeback" album everytime I hear "Midnight City"???
