Ditto. Thanks a lot! Great album.

Someone should have used EAC to rip it though. I can hear some artefacts on track 08, and possibly a couple other tracks as well. If it's ripped from a copy, check the silence at the end of track 08. There's some static there. You may need to use headphones or look at the waveform.

PS. It's Fraunhofer JS VBR, not 320, so a smaller download :).

[/quote]Thanx for the feedback obs..

You're right.. after checking my itunes settings, it was set for a lower rate VBR rip.. sorry, I'll redo it if needed.[:I]

Since I'm fairly new to this process, any setting tweaks or encoding apps / utils suggestions would be most appreciated.

FYI: That was a direct from CD Rip[;)]

The bitrate was okay. I don't think Fraunhofer does VBR very well though.

For anyone who insists on using Itunes to rip CDs, they should at least use the error-correction option. It's not "dead on balls accurate" but it should, at least, cover up any noticeable ripping errors (like the static I mentioned previously).

If you're running Windows and you want dead on balls accurate, I suggest using Exact Audio Copy. Here's a tutorial to help you get setup and running (using LAME to encode to MP3):
http://users.pandora.be/satcp/eac-qs-en.htm
It's slightly outdated. The recommended LAME version is 3.97b2 now ;-): http://www.rarewares.org/dancer/dancer.php?f=35

Unlike Apple's stuff, it doesn't "just work", but you get far better results, and learn something in the process :). Itunes may be an excellent digital music organizer, but for ripping (and encoding to MP3s), it's not that great.

PS. You're a lucky scab for having that CD!
