Screaming Blue Messiahs

Cannot find them on any site for download. Anyone know where to get them? They had 2 popular songs for the WLIR crowd- one was "Wild Blue Yonder", and the other slips my ind after 20 years... It's funny how they got all hyped up in NYC as the next big thing then petered out quickly.

I believe WLIR played "I Wanna be a Flintstone", and "Smash the Market Place". I think they are oop. I can help you out with these two if your interested.

The extended version of "I Wanna Be a Flintstone" can easily be found on Volume One of the Retro:Active CD series.

I have the CD Bikini Red, here is 55-The Law my favourite song with I Wanna Be A Flintstone. Bikini Red and Sweet Water Pools are not bad either.

Screaming Blue Messiahs was first introduced here in MANILA by NU107 back in their 1987 test broadcast with the song "BIKINI RED".[;)] It was followed by "55 THE LAW" which also hit the DZBM POWER105 playlist on early 1988.Great album indeed!![8D] BIKINI RED is the only VINYL RECORD that I bought from them.[8D]

At the time, excessive hype + novelty single (the first thing I really heard from them) led to me writing them off pretty quickly.

Since then I've been told a few times that they were amazing live and that I should have given them a chance. I tracked down the majority of their stuff, and most of it seems O.K., but somehow there still seems to be something missing. Maybe another of a long line of bands that just couldn't transfer their live energy/talent to the recording studio.
