Anyone up for a challenge?

Back in the day (early 80's of course), I occasionally heard a song on CFNY which I really liked, but never had any luck in finding at the local shops. The thing is, I'm not even certain if I heard the bands name correctly. BUT, I still recall that the DJ said it was (something like) "Seth Myer's Glove". The song was like a cross between Bauhaus and Fad Gadget... does this ring any bells at all?

And while I'm at it, CFNY also played at the time a couple of cover versions by current New Wave bands. One was Traffic's 'Hole in My Shoe' and the other was Tyrannosaurus Rex's 'Ride a White Swan'...

Ummm . . . I know Nigel Planer (as 'neil' from [i]The Young Ones[/i]) did a cover of "Hole In My Shoe" by Traffic.

Not sure if that helps whatsoever. Most likely doesn't[:p]

LOL!!! Marsden right? Marsden used to play a bit with group names. I remember hearing a song that turned out to be Chant No. 1 by Spandau Ballet, but for the longest time I couldn't find the group.

He announced the song and called the group "Da Schpandows" (The Spandaus) It was only when I heard the song at a club and asked the DJ did I put it all together.

Seth Myer's Glove doesn't ring a bell, but they played a lot of local and very obscure stuff. Good luck. If you hanven't already, you should also try the CFNY site, a lot of listeners still check in there. They might know it.

THAT'S IT!!! Thank you demised! I've been looking for that for years... it has to be from '82 or '83 if I remember correctly (it seems I was off on the Bauhaus / Fad Gadget sound, more Stranglers / Fad Gadget - but it's been a LOT of years inbetween and my memory isn't what it used to be)

Thanks eight6, it was indeed Marsden... CFNY was great back in those days wasn't it? As you can see from demised's post the search is over... I urge everyone to check out that link he provided. I'll be burning Minimal Ethics to disc later today!
