Hansje/Hansie - Automobile

"Automobile" by Hansje (or "Hansie" in some territories) peaked at #109 on the U.S. Billboard "Bubbling Under" Hot 100 chart in January 1980. Does anyone know where I can find a good quality (preferably lossless) copy of this song? I can't seem to find it anywhere other than a low quality, vinyl rip MP3 via Google. Based on the research that I've done so far it has never been made available on CD. Maybe someone can point me where to find it in a higher quality format? Thank you.

It's on one of the B.L.A.S.T. Modern Rock promo CD's, but was from vinyl (good clean rip, though).

Thanks for the info. I stumbled upon that B.L.A.S.T. promo CD. It's volume #21. Unfortunately, it wasn't for sale. :( Too bad that it was from vinyl. I suppose that the the original master tapes have been lost. Was the song a hit anywhere?

Just in case you did not know or see it in your travels looking for it, this song did appear on this (Canadian Only) vinyl compilation from K-Tel of all places.

If you were lucky enough to find a mint copy you could probably make your own good clean rip. I doubt any copies of this, even if they are on C-D, ever came from any masters.

Just letting you know, obviously (^the above^) would not be from C-D.

This thread might be worth looking over.

Thank you for the info and time researching! Looks like it may have been a hit in Canada since it made that K-Tel compilation. I think that you may be right in that doing my own vinyl rip may be the best option. Unfortunately, I don't have the equipment to do so. Maybe that means that it's time for me to invest in some equipment. ;) I didn't know what you meant at first about looking over that thread, but now I see ... ;)
