FINALLY!

It's ironic that i've been waiting forever for a single called "Everybody's Waiting." I've finally received the final piece of the Zingari puzzle. Have a listen to Zingari's debut single "Everybody's Waiting" produced by Phil Harding!!

Zingari - Everybody's Waiting (7" Version) (1983)

Note that the back of the 7" sleeve lists the track time as 3:49, however the label on the record lists it as 2:57 which is more accurate. The 12" boasts 2 exclusive versions of Everybody's Waiting (a Disco Mix and a Dub Mix) as well as the b-side "I've Heard It All Before"

After Everybody's Waiting Zingari parted ways with both Blue Strike records and producer Phil Harding and started working with producer David Motion. They retained the AWESOME Zingari logo and released my favorite of their tracks "One More Chance" on Dakota Records in 1984. It's got a Pet Shop Boys feel.

This release doesn't appear to have a 12" unfortunately. OR a b-side. As a bonus you get the mostly instrumental Beat Mix on the flip.

The lack of success of either of these singles didn't deter Zingari. This time they drop the logo, but keep David Motion as producer. In 1985 they release "A Dakota Artists Production" on PRT Records with the 7" "Halcyon Days" b/w "Echoes" Although both tracks are shining examples of synthpop, once again the band didn't light up the charts, and as far as I know, that's the end of the Zingari story. Gary Hutchins and Dave Morris ended up playing keyboards and percussion respectively for the Strawberry Switchblade album which David Motion co-produced with Phil Thornally.

I found a Gary Hutchins on Facebook, who'd be the right age to be Zingari's Gary Hutchins, but when I contacted him he denied having anything to do with the band. I noticed we had a mutual friend in common (Paul Goodchild of Space Monkey) so I tried to call him on it. He never replied, but he added me as a friend. Anyway...

I hope there's more Zingari stuff out there, but this is all that I can tell was officially released. I REALLY like these guys. They're a bit much, but in the best way possible. Tracklisting and links below...

1. Everybody's Waiting
2. I've Heard It All Before
3. One More Chance
4. Halcyon Days
5. Echoes
6. Everybody's Waiting (Disco Mix)
7. Everybody's Waiting (Dub Mix)
8. One More Chance (Beat Mix)
