Sharing some 80's obscurities

A few select songs from Rare Hits of the 80s vol. 61, 62 and 63 to stir things up as it's getting pretty boring around here. Although you might have seen some of these tracks on certain blogs, these are almost all ripped from my own vinyl copies (except Bara Floukkurinn track which was a re-issue download) and the quality is not too shabby. [:D]

I like a lot of what I've heard, so far. Lots of up-beat tunes, and kind of
hits the spot for me, right now.

I know a lot of these were your own rips. If I cleaned up some hiss/pop etc.
would you like the cleaned up files back?

Thanks very much for the offer. My only issue with cleaning hiss/pops and clicks is that in the process of noise removal, some subtle sounds are cleaned and lost too. At least that was my experience using Audacity. But I am curious to see how yours will sound. [:)]

Be much easier to work on and sound better if wrapped in a lossless format. In other words, sample the hell out of those analogue materials when capturing, never can do too much, if need be compress later after mastering.

I am from the turntable generation. [:D] I don't mind the minimal noise as I mostly hunt for unplayed/new records and end result is normally cool. I Was never fan of lossless as a format your ipod can't play does not work for me.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of Ipod. So do you connect your turntable to your Ipod for listening? LOL, Never thought of an Ipod as a measure for sound quality listening. Oh, well, if it works for you, who am I to question others bliss.[:D]

For me, IPOD is not about the quality of rip, but convenience. I have a 2 hour commute to work each day on transit, and that's when I can really get to enjoy my music. Carrying around 25000 songs with me on the IPOD is just awesome. Then at work, my IPOD dock provides music for the whole day. The IPOD dock at home is next to me at bedtime so IPOD is like God to me LOL. Now why I don't bother to make wave or flac file out of my rips is that I just can't. The reason is that I have recently bought a turntable that rips the music in mp3 format directly to a USB falsh drive attached to the turntable. So it's the most convenient way of ripping hundreds of records in a short amount of time, which is what I am constantly doing. As the output is mp3, you can't make wave files or flac anyways, but like I said, I am happy with a 320kbs rip.

Understand Daniel. Sorry, I shouldn't of picked on you. You enjoy great music and that's cool. Guess I'm just thinking of myself and how nice it would be to have that music your sharing in lossless. [8D]

No worries. Seriously my ears can't even distinguish the difference between flac and 192 kbs anyways [:D]
