Req: Songs from Freur

Postby Seona85 » Thu Mar 20, 2014 12:34 pm

Would appreciate if anyone can provide these very rare tracks from Freur only on certain releases of their second album 'Get Us Out Of Here'.

The song titles are

'Major Motion' 4:31
'This Is The Way' 1:32
'Innocence' 6:08
'Get Us Out Of Here' 0:25

Thanks

«Get Us out of Here», if I remember correctly, is paired with the extended mix of «The Devil & Darkness» on one of CD reissues. Anyway, here are three of them - only in 192 kbps mp3, though:

What I'd really love to have is the original, synth-only version of «Riders in the Night» from their 1981 demo tape. Anyone have it in good quality? Much appreciated!

Thanks so much! Excellent quality too. Major Motion will pop up eventually I'm sure. Its the only missing track from this great album.

I too would like to hear the demo of Riders In The Night. It's stylistically as good as Doot Doot.

And as an aside, if anyone has the B-sides 'You're a Hoover' and 'Hey Ho Away We Go', they would also be very appreciated. I want to really get the whole discography of this excellent band.

What is needed from Freur? I have mp3 copies of demos, mixes and stuff - almost everything, I guess...

I've got all their albums, except for that one song 'Major Motion' that appears to only have been released on their cassette version of 'Get Us Out Of Here'.

After that, I'm looking for their two B-sides. 'You're A Hoover', which I think was the B-side of Runaway (though there are two versions, the 7' and the 'Dun Diffrent' mix), and the B-Side of 'Look In The Back For Answers' called 'Hey Ho Away We Go'.

Beyond that, there is only the very rare unofficial compilation 'Lost Demos: Treasures & Soundtracks'. This contains a host of songs I've never heard of before like 'Cocktails' and 'Red Dog's Theme'. That also has the demo version of 'Riders In The Night' so it would be awesome to get that whole album.

This is the tracklist on it.

I'd be interested in Freur tracks. I have a few 12's, a couple of versions of Hoover & the 6-track BBC Radio 1 I could share.

01101001, please share the 12inches[:)]

Here are almost all the Freur rarities that I have - most of them in 192 kbps (CBR or VBR) mp3, though. Each file about 80-100 mb in size:

http://www.mediafire.com/download/44olk ... freur_1.7z
http://www.mediafire.com/download/w0vt6 ... freur_2.7z
http://www.mediafire.com/download/1pdj7 ... freur_3.7z
http://www.mediafire.com/download/9waio ... freur_4.7z

Hope this helps.

Oh, and by the way - here's a link to «Riders in the Night» 12":

Yeowza! Its the motherlode! Thanks for sharing all that hard/impossible
to find Freur. I don't think I have anything to add to your collection,
unless someone needs the 'Doot Doot' and 'Get Us Out of Here' LPs.

Thanks again!

It's a pleasure and an honour to be of help to the members of this Forum, who've helped me lots of times along the way. And I'm really really glad you guys like it[:)]

01101001, I don't suppose you have a cassette version of "Doot-Doot" (and the second one, for that matter) with bonus songs? I once had a chance to buy it but passed on it for some reason still unclear to me[:(]

Man, I wish I could say yes -- but I don't have it. I'll certainly
keep and eye out though.
