unzip files

I need to download software in order to unzip (convert) RAR files. I am asking for a few recommendations. So far WINZIP and WinRAR have been suggested. Any others I should consider?
Also, the best download site suggested in 'download.com' by C/NET.
Thanks

Hey, not sure this is the right forum for this request

However, I'd recommend 7-zip (http://www.7-zip.org/) - it's free and can handle most zip files.

I just discovered this one a week or two ago ... for Windows. Freeware.
http://legroom.net/software/uniextract

This is ONLY for extracting files from archives. It is basically a simple graphic user interface for a bunch of standalone commandline programs. As such, it is also portable :).

Run, and either drag/drop the archive you want to unRAR (or browse to the file), then browse to where you want to save it.

Drawback is that if the archive is damage, you cannot try to repair it, like you can with WinRAR.

Thanks everyone. Yes, perhaps this was not the correct forum for my question, but I knew it would be viewed and replied to a little quicker.
