I have a question that's been plaguing me since 1997. It's about a song that I'm pretty positive came out in the 80s. I heard it on a fairly sophisticated muzak system we'd just gotten at work, that had a ton of stations; it was basically satellite radio before Sirius and XM. One of the stations played 80s alternative, from back when "alternative" meant alternative to mainstream and not necessarily alternative to good music. One evening I'm in the back room, and I heard a song on this station with a female singer. It was about how she lost her surfer boyfriend; the wave that killed him was "straight from hell" or something similar, "hell" being the rhyme with the previous line. (/csb)
Any idea what this song was?

The Motels have a song called Tragic Surf which mentions "a demon wave straight from Hell" Could that be it?
