Tales Of Topographic 80s Vol. 24 - Missed European Locations

Postby Rissan » Tue Dec 23, 2025 3:02 am

Normally I would start with: "It is the last Friday of December and the musical journey continues with a visit to ..."

But since Second Christmas day in the Netherlands is on a Friday this year, and I am celebrating the Holidays from the 24th, I decided to throw this volume in today.

The story behind this Volume. Since I scanned almost every song about European cities for this volume, which was supposed to close the European book and move further out into the world, the result
was a four CD volume with a mix of tracks found of cities already featured before with their own volume (Paris, London, Berlin), cities (Rotterdam, Bilbao, Madrid, Aberdeen, Glasgow, Manchester, Sofia) which didn't meet the minimum hour of music in FLAC but still yielded enough tracks to present to you here and a bunch of stand alone city tracks.

To be honest I am very pleased with this volume which was almost two years in the making.

As a result I decided to move two European volumes to next year. One of them is already waiting to be released since the start of this series and at first was planned to finish the European leg of the journey.
The second one is the postponed Milan Volume, which will be presented in the month they host the Olympic Games.

Give it a listen and enjoy the holidays.

Be Aware the tracks may vary in loudness.

Please note, this in NO way is intended to take away sales from any of the artists included here
but rather a way to discover or rediscover these timeless masterpieces.
Please support these artists and bands if they should have material available! They deserve all the credit!

I will be back on the second of January with a new volume of "The Continuous Beauty Of The Unknown 80s".

Up until the last Friday of January 2026.

Hi Rissan
A commendable effort to complete this tour of European capitals, I can't wait for the assholes cities "de la France"...
04. Foye(R)s Des Arts - Toulouse-Lautrec..., this one's not about Toulouse city, TL is an alcoholic painter among other creative qualities, contemporary of Van Gogh, whom he also frequented - Those were the good old days !

You put it twice "Band Apart - Marseille (3:17)" - Ris, are you an Olympic de Marseille fan ...the OM's slogan is "Paris, we'll fuck you" ... Yes I'm french, that's what friendship is :D

Merry Christmas Eveybody and see you next year

It is there twice because of the length of both tracks, that differ. Just like the 7" and 12" versions of Flairck's Sofia of which the Kenso track is a cover.
