If I'm not mistaken, the back of the Cashflow 12" has an ext. version of The Emigre. It's been awhile since I looked at that record.

Blir, thank you very much! I have been trying to find this track for a long time, as it is one of my favourite instrumentals of all time. I am listening to it right now and can take it on the commute to work tomorrow and make the Monday morning slog a lot more enjoyable. Thanks again[:)]

Oops, I also meant to ask eight6 about the 12" version - I would really like to hear an extended version of The Emigre - the 7" sounded more sped up than what I remember (unless my senility really has crept in!)

I can't speak for the European release, but I'm looking at the Columbia 12" (44-03806) right now, and the running time is listed as 3:47. It is NOT EVEN CLOSE to the version posted here!

Way, way sped up. I had to check to make sure I was playing it at the right speed.

ETA: The person who ripped that mp3 recorded it at the wrong speed. Took a 33 1/3 and played it at 45. Which obviously confirms that there's a version longer than 3:47...

Mine is 3:48, pristine, and not sped up. Not sure if there is an even longer one. There are 6 extended mixes of tracks on my singles collection by them, but not one of Emigre.

Thanks! This looks like the same speed and length as the one I posted. Are people saying mine is playing much faster? Weird. Nevertheless, thanks OP for providing a better rez rip than the P2P one I had.

BTW, Brambo informs me he has their whole discog on the Hub. [:p]

I think OP has posted the copy I remember... 5 minutes sounds about right to me, but I'll try to get to it when I get home.

My favorite LP song is "The Sun Turns Black" which was available only on the import 12" of Love Cascade. (I think) Great song!!

You're welcome Blir.
I thought you had posted the 7" version, I haven't downloaded your song so I don't know whether it's going faster than it should.

You know, that's how it was tagged when I P2P'd it, so I was likely wrong all this time that it was the 7".

It took me forever to get into "A Way You'll Never Be" but it finally grew on me, I always liked "Cashflow" and "Love Cascade" and noticed that "Love Cascade" samples "Love Action" by the Human League, anyone else ever pick up on that? If I had to pick a favorite song by Leisure Process it would have to be "Anxiety" I fell in love with that song during my first listen, if I can recall I picked that up during the hub's early days.

I first got into Leisure Process through an interview in Record Mirror which said at the end that "Anxiety" is their more poppy side. Gary Barnacle translated this for me as actually meaning "our more commercial side". [:D]

According to Gary, their biggest selling track over in the US was "Love Cascade" which sold over 100,000+ in the club scene. He said that when he went over there with Soft Cell, people were coming up to him after the gig to sign their copies of his record rather than Marc's! [8D]

"Anxiety" is my second favourite track of theirs, with my fave being "A Way You'll Never Be". That has one of the best 80s basslines ever, if not of all time.

I bought the collection from Romoboy and it is fantastic,
