Hi marie 3...Glad you liked the last few things I posted! Here's another cool Alison b-side. She does a live acoustic version of Led Zepplin's "Rock & Roll" and it's awesome. She really rocks it, keeping all the blusey intentions that Zepplin always had.

I could not agree more!!! I still listen to Alf regularly and every time I do I think that it's in desperate need of a remaster. And when that happens there will be PLENTY of room left on the disc for all sorts of bonus material. The sound is very "small" compared to today's standard.

Amen...it's so difficult to listen to this album. Love it to pieces but the sound is just atrocious.
Yes...someone needs to get on SonyBMG's ass & get eitehr a box set or rarities collection. It ain't like the can't afford it![:p]

ps: on a cute little note...when I was in Alf's fanclub wayyyyyyy back in 84 I met a penpal who later became a boyfriend. The distance between Canada & the UK couldn't keep us together, sadly. Ah youth....

I love to listen to "Twisting The Knife" as LOUD as I can, but the flimsy sound of the disc only goes up so far! The song souinds like it's gonna fall apart past a certain point. Actually, everything she did up until Hometime could use a remaster. For me, Raindancing was a BIG letdown, but I'd still rush out for beefed up edition. If it wasn't for a few tracks on that one it would have been a complete loser for me. I guess I was expecting something as magnificient as Alf was, but the entire sound of the album was very hollow to me. "Weak In The Presence Of Beauty" was really the only track that got repeat listenings. It was really great when I saw her on Letterman promoting the album, though.

I finally got a minute to finish cleaning up my rip of that "Love Resurrection (Love Injected Remix)" I mentioned earlier. Dana, give it a listen and see how it sounds.

Mo, you are the ace of ripping vinyl. My attemtps have always sounded like the NY subway. Anyway, I love this mix of "Love Resurrection"! I have the 12" and have always thought it was the better mix. I wish something different was done with "All Cried Out", too. There's too much sound effect and not enough song for me. Later!

I found a CD compilation disc (an odd batch of trance, techno, and 80's synthpop) that had an 8:47 version of "Situation (Club 69 Future Phunk Mix)." I'm sure it's been out there before but I hadn't heard it.

Great deal though. I bought the 11-song CD at a closeout store for 98 cents.

It's great that this MP3 was shared, but you're not missing much with this "jazz version". It has a sax into, but the best version is the version that everyone's familiar with. It features Alison's superb vocal and that's all that matters. To me, the sax just sounds in the way. I think I would have liked it better if the combo improved a bit in the middle, with the track beginning and ending with Alison, but the instrumental at the beginning simply sounds pasted there.
