In all fairness Tom, it was an off-topic question buried in the middle of an argument. If you started a thread about iTunes questions, I'm sure many people would have answered it without needing any demands about who should have answered the question.

This topic was about a music request, but now it's about Rubellan not being able to take a correction like an adult when he himself has made similar remarks to other people in other posts (http://nwoutpost.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=14433). How dare the rules be applied to HIM! That's damned arrogant.

And honestly Rubbeet, I think few people need to be reminded about how wonderful The Rube is when he's so damned determined to tell us how wonderful he is all the time. I give. We LOVE you. You're fabulous. Truly god's gift to music remastering, youtube posting, and throwing a tantrum if people dare disagree with you. [:X]

Hmmm, I hate to jump in, but in Rubellan's defense, I don't think it's fair to say he's selfish, blah blah blah! Those who know how much effort he puts in by uploading all those rare videos in YouTube will surely don't mind having to provide him anything they have in return- just not publicly. If he mentioned why he needed it, I'm sure there wouldnt've been so much fuss. We can, of course, use some common sense in sending stuff by e-mail. If no one else sent it to him, I would've done so myself.

It helps to get your point across without being offensive.
Rubbeet, I'll ask you to be objective and look at the real issue here:

Ruby broke a very explicitly articulated and much discussed rule of this message board. He then proceeded to make dismissive, flippant and insulting comments. Maybe if he had listened to what I said from the beginning, you would'nt be reacting to the way I said it.

Everything else is pure fillibuster.

Without the benefit of vocal inflections, bodily gestures or even smilie or two, I'm not sure how to take this so I'll just assume there was no malice or sarcasm intended [:)] With all due respect Tom, you had'nt addressed me specifically so I would'nt have known you expected an answer from me specifically and besides, Blir answered it before I even saw it. And honestly, I don't need to answer a question that is easily found out by oneself [;)]

[:D][:D][:D] Nicely done.

Marv - don't sweat it. There was nothing even remotely out of line about either your simple request or the manner in which you stated it.

I guess what's really bothering me is all this "it's not obscure enough" talk lately. It seems just a few short months ago members (including some of the moderators) where posting music that are still in print. Now since the iTune , amazon and The Ideal Copy ads ,things really have changed around here.

LOL, thanks for the support guys! This definitely is'nt the first time and probably won't be the last one of the over-sensitive types from around here get their knickers all in a twist over simple forum rules and enforcement. Remember this thread?

Thanks to everybody then and thanks again now. I'm a moderator for YOU guys - and that includes the silent supporters too [8)] Love it when common sense prevails [8D]

edit: And big thanks to Spaz for further deleting that yousendit link. That was a fine gesture [^]

LOL! Blir's in the zone today for sure. I think I'll just join Rubbeet in shutting up now. That's what I get for not wanting to miss out on such a fun thread. [:D][:D]

Of course things changed. This has been the subject of numerous threads. (Can anyone dig one or two up?) The administrator of the site himself put those ads there as a reminder of the legitimate sources of music download and it was he who put the description under the Obscure 80's header. Why is this so hard [?] This site was founded with the intent of sharing New Wave obscurity and out of printabilia. Yes, I made that last word up [:D]

Listen, things have changed in the past few months when people were posting and requesting easy to find music. We have to be careful and since this is Mike P.'s site, we all have to respect what he wants. Marv is only doing what is expected of him as a moderator, and he did he right thing. Do not ask for a song that you can buy. It's as simple as that.
Some people may not know a song is available and it is helpful someone on the boards give info on where to purchase. And what does the ads for itunes, ideal copy, ect. have to do with the subject at hand? Rubellan says he didn't want to buy the cd, just the song. itunes is a great place to buy a song or two. I do it all the time.

A few points:

1. I wanted to apologize for posting the song in question. I should not have done it. I wasn't thinking. And I did it for Rubellen, even after the very public verbal beatings I took from him a few weeks back about another issue (sound familiar Marvy?).

2. When I saw what MarvyMarv added to my e-mail about removing the song, I immediately edited the post to make sure it was gone. I was OK with Marvy making sure things were done correctly. I made a mistake and Marvy pointed it out.

3. I still think that Rubbeet is a cutie.

4. I apologize to Mike P. He's my buddy and I done him wrong.

5. Now that that is behind us, who does "Stay (Second Time ARound)"?
