Some shared obscurities...

An XTC obscurity for you all...yes, it's XTC and it's pretty obscure.

This is a cover of a Captain Beefheart song recorded for a 1988 tribute CD called Fast'n'Bulbous. It was released on Imaginary Records which I believe is now defunct.

I culled this one from the Mayor of Simpleton 12" single. [:p]

Probably not obscure for many of you as it is almost impossible to find something you guys don't have, but anyway, here's my small contribution to this interesting thread:

Iko was another great minimal/electro/synth outfit from Canada. This song (Approach on Tokyo) is from their 1982 LP titled "'83"

I've seen this lp on ebay for big bucks many times...never heard of them before.

IMHO it's a very good LP if you like minimal wave/electro/synth music, it's a pity these guys didn't release more albums.

Here is another from Iko, from the '83 release (from 1982):

Iko - Gonadotropic Synthesis. They sing this one in both french and english, very cool track, as is their whole LP.

Here are a couple from a band called Go Fundamental. Haven't seen anything posted from them on the board. Quality isn't the greatest, as they are old tape transfers, but I've done a bit of filtering and enhancement. Both tracks are from a 12" single dating from about 1986.
