In my search for more info for the rip I did straight off the DVD, I found Bonnie Hayes's website where she had a better version posted for free! Plus another great bubblegum song, "Shelley's Boyfriend." She says, "Classic stuff deserves to live on as MP3...enjoy."

Is the Play Dead LP with the original mixes worth anything? I bought a copy of the LP for 10 Euros a while ago which contains both mixes on 2 LPs, then found a download for the tracks and forgot about the LPs.

It's a great disc. Of course it doesn't hurt that it reminds me of the summer when I first met my wife. If you like Scotty's Lament, I think you'd like the rest of the album. It's one of those albums that just flows without getting boring. Nothing else is quite so Big-Country-ish though.

How does [i]Boylan Heights[/i] compare with [i]One Simple Word[/i] and [i]Ring[/i]? I've played the singles off those albums to death, but I don't play the CDs very often because the rest of the songs don't do anything to grab my attention.

Boylan Heights is much more even. So much so, that as egg-roger said, it's hard to pick a single standout song from it. It's an enjoyable listen from start to finish - not really a weak song on there. As I said earlier it all kind of flows. I always enjoy listening to the album, but find it very hard to pick a standout song.

Great find Charlieg! I love "Girls Like Me," such a fun song. It's good to hear Shelly's Boyfriend again. I didn't like it when it first came out. Listening to it today I can appreciate it's fluffy pop center!

I decided to share some "rockabilly" since I don't see any represented here. This is The Blasters' "Rock Boppin' Baby" from their LP "Over There" recorded live in 1982 ("Over There" being London, UK). I've still got the album somewhere in the basement.

Nah. I'm gonna post a couple more when I get home too - couple things popped into my head.

But the original idea was that that first one was gonna be pure and unfiltered - THE one song that you truly wanted the rest of us to hear.
