Great picks guys. Nothing sweeter or purer than those late 70s/early 80s power pop outfits. I got a major hunger for more after seeing The Plimsouls last month. I hope this choice isn't too pedestrian - Bram Tchaikovsky's "Robber", the lead track on 1979's Strange Man, Changed Man. It's at least as good as the much more talked about "Girl of My Dreams" imho.

I've enjoyed this thread, especially the Headboys track (I'd completely forgotten that one).

Excellent tracks Michelle!

But for this one, I'd strongly suggest picking up The Cars (s/t) Deluxe Edition. The 2nd CD is all great demos including this one in pristine remastered goodness. [:p]

Michelle is right, there have been recent re-issues/compilations of the Young Canadians, Pointed Sticks & Modernettes by the good folks at <a href="http://www.suddendeath.com/">Sudden Death Records</a>. I picked up all three, some real good stuff there.

However, I actually took the Young Canadians and Secret Vs tracks from the 1991 complilation <a href="http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=Ajeh1z84a3yv3">Last Call: Vancouver Independent Music, 1977-1988</a>.

ElectricLash, your question is harder. Depends on your setting for the forum. "Part of the Noise" is an excellent collection by Pointed Sticks and well worth gettingas you probably know.[;)] Didn't know you were an Artic Monkeys fan.

The Starjets were the forerunner to the band "The Adventures" who had a big hit with "Broken Land".

"School Days" was one of the better tracks from their album "God Bless The Starjets" which has been re-released complete with non-LP tracks on the Captain Oi! label.
