To say I am impressed by your 80's mixes is not doing you justice. Your mixes that you have posted are amazing, but I am truly blown away by your listening booth mixes (#35 and #36). Where or how can I get a copy of these? I am hooked. Also, knowing that these are numbered 35 and 36, where in the heck can I check out the other 34? Truly amazing. You are in the truest and most sincere form the best 80's DJ I have heard, plus your name is Cory, which is mine. Please let me know what or how to get your mixes. Holy shit, I would fill up my CD changer with your stuff.

wow, I'm honored that you'd say all those nice things about me. Thanks you, it's much appreciated. Give me a day or two to get caught up with my regular 9-5 duties for the week, and I will either post some mixes or burn some for you. (none of them are retro or new wave except that one on this forum). however, in the meantime, i am working on a new 80s mixed cd that will include both industrial medlies as well as some other surprises I've been saving up.
for anyone else that doesn't have a clue what 36 and 37 are:

Thanks, that would be awesome. Regardless of them being retro or not, I can tell you like the hard beats and this is right up my alley. I listened to your mixes you had online and they are very good. I would love anything you put together for me/us. Let me know if you need my off board email address. My brother is a remixer, aka Cube G, you can find his stuff on the GYBO Board. I could put together some CD's for you as well in trade. Let me know

Very Nice. Hey I have picked up based on your reference to Oaklawn Records that you must be a DFW DJ. What part of Dallas are you in? I am in Country Bumpkin Rowlett, but I like it.

Actually, I lived in Houston and Galveston when I was learning to spin records. (I have a lot of family in Ft Worth (Haltom City and North Richland Hills} - hence, spent a lot of time at Oaklawn). I currently live in Oklahoma City and work @ a couple of different clubs. When I first moved here, we all used to make roadies down to Oaklawn on the weekends, until they went away unfortuneately. But even to this day, I show off all the records I have that were actually pressed on the Oaklawn label, mainly because they are all little individual time capsules from the best era of club music ever.

Small World...
6400, Waterview has kicked my ass many of time as well. I play golf but must of the time Golf plays me. I shoot average 95.
Cory-Do you remember before Oaklawn Records closed down the place that was off of Cedar Springs called VVV Records? I used to hit that place when I would make a trip to Oaklawn I would take a swing by VVV. They had a crap load of Vinyl. One of my best finds there was Derek B-Bad Young Brother. Anyway, other music stores of note Bills Records and Tapes (although you have to put up with Bill when you go).
Lets keep in touch 6400 and Cory. We have some things in common.

Yeah, Im actually going down to Bill's next weekend. I can't wait for him to decide the price of all my items at the counter depending on whether or not he "likes" me, lol.

^^^^ LOL at Bills pricing scheme! I used to really hate going in there because there was so much good stuff to choose from but you had no idea how much you had in your pile till you got to the counter and smiled pretty for the man.

Actually I just found Bill's Records EBAY store, I guess because they never finished putting together that whole "online record store site" thingy, anyway, I printed out all the stuff I wanted with the BUY IT NOW prices, so when I bring them (the records) to the counter, he can't cheat me.
