Just a reminder that we should only be posting songs that are oop or hard to find. If a song you want is readily available on cd, (or download) make arrangements for it to be sent to your email.
Or join the hub! [:)]

Hate to be a buzzkill.
Just a reminder.
We don't want any trouble.
As for the hub, contact Tiger_mn for the instructions.
Or see this topic.

Thanks for starting this thread, Marie. I was just thinking the same thing yesterday. There are some real enthusiastic music fans on this board and we all benefit by growing our Hub community. I just want to throw an invite out to everyone, even old timers around here, to join the Hub. It's so great when you find that one song or album that you've been searching forever for! Or when you find stuff you never even knew you wanted! We have a great collective musical knowledge here on the boards.....just imagine what a collective collection we'd have if EVERYONE joined the Hub!

Of course I read this AFTER I'd already posted one. Mea culpa, and I agree with the guidelines. Forgive the oversight, and
JOIN THE HUB!

I must certainly concur though I'll readily admit to instances where YT has repeatedly jumped into the YSI posting fray.
Believe me, the file hosting resources are so readily available that it is all too easy to go ahead and just post the link.
However, emailing content, links or better yet, joining the hub, is indeed the most prudent thing to do given all the subsequent mp3 meta search data linking that now brings so many people to this particular forum.
What a golden opportunity to bring more NWO'rs to the hub (especially all you fine DJ's and archivists!)
IMO: the two latter practices should be tacitly encouraged as much as possible, while at the same time excercising discretion with your choice of shared content when using the former.[;)]
I'm sure everyone here can appreciate the reasoning behind and be willing to abide by the modest guidelines posted in the forum header:
Obscure80's/MFV, CD-R's & MP3 trading
Discussions about CD-R and MP3 trading, recording vinyl to CD/MP3, and our Obscure80's archive of music.
TIP: Try to avoid requesting songs easily found on CD - this will generally be perceived as an annoyance to others on the board. Try a P2P network instead.

...mh, I think we had this topic some months ago...I'm tired of going through all the discussions again. As it is, trust in self-restraint doesn't seem to work.
Let's all hope that the increase in (otherwise easily available) postings doesn't end the torchomatic way[xx(]. So people, join the h-thing or use your emails for albums and Bryan Adams, DepMode (btw, a great hint by Lemmi in that other thread) or the likes.
Post things like this instead:

Oh, and if anybody could help me out with Hohokam's "To Sleep" as my 7" has some nasty scratches at the beginning that cause a lot of noise...

Either you emailed your request to the wrong address or your spam filter caught the reply. I do not just delete or ignore requests.

Send me another invite, Wolvie. And please walk me through it this time. Last time I got on the hub (many moons ago) I was almost immediately cut off. [:(]

We always have new members who may have missed past topics regarding this subject. I didn't mean to scold, just to inform. I hope that is the way I came across.
