Greetings..First post here..Found this in my search for a Boston Area band from the late eighties called Breakfast in Bed. One EP and a full length. Same time as another band called the Sex Execs were around.. Had the vinyl, but it was lost in a move.

Would love to have some digital rips of either band..Thanx for a great forum..I am going to dig up some files to share

Somewhere down the road soon, I'm sure I'll be able to help you with Sex Execs' 8 released tracks. I don't own any of Breakfast in Bed's stuff, sorry.

P.S. It was early '80s. The Execs was splitsville by the end of 1984. I was heartbroken when they broke up.

Your right..I remember being in NYC on a week end trip to see some friends..found out the Execs were playing at Storyville the next night..Left at 3am..hit Boston around 9 am , crashed in the K Car and found a friend of a friend who lets shower and out we went to see them..then drove it back the same night..now that was a roadtrip..

They played at The Channel more than a few times, and I sure as hell didn't have to hop on board the sex train to get there. Mind you, I technically wasn't supposed to be in The Channel, but... I ran with an old crowd, looked old, and got snuck in a lot. The fake ID and bro being buds with one of the bartenders probably helped...

The Channel , I've been there many a time . Sure was a great place for live music. The Ramones show for one was great as I remember . Crazy crowd .

Tom, what part of Mass. are you in?

I moved to Boston right after it went new wave and left the year it got sold at auction*, so it was like we both closed those chapters of our lives together. It was certainly a nicer place to be than The Rat, that's for sure.

Am I mistaken or was there one day a week at The Channel where they did let in minors? On the weekends? I remember there was one club where there were certain days us kids were actually welcome, but maybe I'm mixing it up with another one.

*And it certainly wasn't much afterwards from what I understand.

I lived in Boston ( Dorchester ) up until the age of 12 then lived in Quincy after that . The Channel let in minors on Sunday afternoons . By the way , call me crazy but I liked The Rat . Had some good times there.

Ah, Dahchestah. Home to Sue Costello. If you managed to catch her sitcom that was on FOX for about 4 minutes in 1998, you'll know where I lived.

For me, The Channel was like the Morrissey song. "Everyday Is Like Sunday." I thought it was them.

Camera, I listened to the '83 Rock n Roll Rumble on the radio. I'd give anything for a tape of that. It's funny, because 'Til Tuesday were practically nonentities going into it. They were together, like, what, a week? The Execs had paid their dues, you know, but that's the breaks. People certainly took notice of TT after that. "Love in a Vacuum" was supposed to be _the_ hit, but fate (and Epic's bungled single release) had other plans.

Speaking of Sex Execs does anyone have the track "My Ex"?
