Hi all!

You've helped me a lot in the past with finding some rare stuff, maybe it'll also work with this one before I go buying some old vinyls on eBay.

I'm looking for all non-album stuff of RE-FLEX, in particular I'd like to know if the US 12inch version is different from the album version, which was (to my knowledge) identical to the european 12inch version.

There is a bootleg collection of most of this stuff (also the unreleased 2nd album "Humanication") available at Saltykas Blog http://saltyka.blogspot.com, but some of the vinyl rips could be better and the mentioned 12inch version (if it is really existing) is missing.

I am the RE-FLEX god of this board.

I contact the members and have their unreleased materials and EVERYTHING.

I was the first person to find the album copy that these guys are distributing nowadays.

They are all the same....as far as I can tell.
The UK, US, Album versions all appear to be the same. I have hoardes of Re-Flex material...and nothing really appears to be different.

Thos vinyl rips were done by some dude that lives down the street from me....muh bad.

The only thing that is missing from that blog list is a version of Flex It, Love (Or Life) Is Too Dangerous, and Revolution Now.

There are rumors that a 7" version of Sensitive was pressed...but I have yet to hear of it.

I found a 7" with Sensitive/Jungle on ebay, which has a sticker on it, that the song appeared in the German TV series "Derrick". I've just bought it. I'll let you know if the versions on it are different from the album versions in any way...

I had RE-FLEX on cassette and played it until it was done in. I loved the A-side especially. Haven't heard these songs for 20 years and they still sound great, an under-appreciated album to say the least. The rarities are a real bonus.

I was really busy..then I lost my internet..and my place to stay.

I mean I could write for pages...

They were headed by Paul Fishman who did the song writing and stuff. They started out in soundtracks and did a few before becoming a real band in 1982.
They recorded 2 albums...and some soundtracks in the 80s...then Fishman went solo...recorded a few soundtracks, then reappeared with Peter Gill from FGTH to record a really neat album "About 8 Minutes". They launched a site..and it never went past the "Page Coming Soon" stage.

I am trying to find the members, but there seems to be a bit of anymosity between them. I've only managed to get hold of two of them.

Im not sure what else you wanted to know.

I have the unreleased album. I was the first to bring it to the masses and the hub...and now tons of people got it. I burned like 50 copies of that biatch and mailed them everywhere on the planet.

My CD was made from the original DAT..and has no crackles...which is sweet.
Side note: I bought PoD off Amazon for $8 before it became so freaking expensive.

I bought a 12 mixes compilation locally (emi released it for a short while in UK) which had POD on it and although not radically different
from the CD version, it is nonetheless different - maybe they took it from the 'wrong' master tape ?
I'm no officianado of the band (i think i've got the set of 12" singles plus the POD cd - just hope this info may be of help.

Ps anyone else live in south west of England?

Weren't Level 42 members Mark King and Phil Gould part of Reflex at the beginning? Anyone know what songs they performed on? I am sure it was pre-Politics of Dancing era.

I just listened to "Humanication" for the very first time thanks to that blog. What I want to know is, who's the idiot who picked "How Much Longer" to be [i]the[/i] single? It's the worst thing on it!

I just assumed the album was a huge clunker, since most unreleased LPs are and since "How Much Longer" certainly was, but I was pleasantly surprised. There's some really good stuff there. Especially "Forever and Ever."

I don't know exactly what brand of office politics did them in, but now I'm convinced they got completely screwed over by poor single choices. ("Pointless" was my favorite track off "The Politics of Dancing.")

My sentiments exactly. If those guys were actually promoted right, they would have been able to actually get somewhere and make more music instead of just having the material out that allowed them to be easily lumped into the generic synthesized pop from the mid to late 80s.
