SuperListener Tom wanted a vinyl rip of this LP that I found, so I obliged.
Tane' Cain had 3 tracks on the Terminator soundtrack. Little did I know she made a whole album.
So here it is. It's in wav format so SuperLIstener Tom could burn it to a disc.
Sorry it's not in mp3 format, but better than nuttin'. Careful, it's very AOR.

This is interesting...
Was this album produced by Jonathan Cain also?
Her tracks for the soundtrack were:
"Burning In The Third Degree"
"Photoplay"
"You Cant Do That To Me"
And I dont see them...
See she married Jonathan Cain and he was a keyboardist...
He produced her songs for the Terminator Soundtrack under the name:
"Tahnee Cain & The Tryanglz"
Her minor hit from the 80s under the name "Tane Cain" was "Holdin On" (#37 if memory serves me correct)...and this track is here.
But that is freaking awesome.
Very much appreciated. I really like this song. I knew the LP was out (Charted #121)...but I didnt think I'd ever get around to finding it. Thanks dude

I've got 4 copies of this great LP!!!!!!!!! Every time I saw it, it was dirt cheap, so I scooped another. Man, she is soooooooo so fine. And she rocks on this record, very catchy tunes, not unlike early Pat Benatar. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED - so glad to see others know about her!! It is a wonderful record to own in its own right.
Reminds me, another I discovered around the same time, also kicks ass. The Jack Street Band.
I've converted all these to CD-R, good sound IMO. Man, thanks for the Tane Cain thread!!!!!!! She is simply gorgeous to boot.

The Tryanglz were never a real band - just a bunch of studio musicians it seems. Tane Cain had her first album produced by her husband without them.
There was a second album planned (this time with the Tryanglz, short time before or after the Terminator soundtrack) and some songs seem to have leaked into p2p. Would be really nice to hear those.
Anyone???

Yes, be careful. AOR could kill you.
"Holdin' On" and "Temptation" were, are and will always be AOR classics. RCA blew it by not releasing "Temptation" (although they did cut a video - remember Tane out horseback riding?) The poorly-selected followup single, "My Time to Fly," got as high as #108 before crashing.
Session guitarist to the stars, Tim Pierce, was a part of her band. In the videos, as well.
Thanks for the mp3s!

Yes. And just in case you wonder what temptation looks like you can watch her video on CMT.com

What gets me about Tane's album cover is that it looks like every female artists' album cover made in '78. It's her riding on a horse with an Indian outfit on.
Yet, it's a rock album. Yet, it's made in '82. An anachronism if I do say so myself.

Not too many women EVER looked that good in an Indian outfit and on a horse though, IMO. And the record is consistently very good.
Franky, thanks for the tracks from the 2nd unreleased LP.

Thanks for the additional tracks, Franky! Never heard them before but they all sound great - very much what I expected by loving 'Burnin' for years. Would you post the rest as well?
So sad the quality is not so great after all. Some record company should pick up the rights for those and release them! I'd pay plenty of bucks to get a copy.
Anyway, maybe we should start a thread on rare aor stuff? I know it might not be in the spirit of obscure 80's new wave but...
opinions?

Although I'm opposed to doing it, if anyone will tell me how to YouSendIt to nowhere, I've got the rest of the unreleased Tane Cain album. Alternatively, you could hit me up in the hub.
Also, I like the Tane/Jonathan Cain duet - Almost Any Night off her self titled album.
Interesting tidbit - Tane and Jonathan Cain are now divorced, she now goes by Tane McClure and is the star of several "skinimax" movies...Temptation indeed.

When I think about this Tane Cain LP, I can;t help but think about The Jack Street Band. Came out about the same time, I was clueless about both at the time, but picked them both up, and liked them both. So it seems they've been linked together ever since for me. Here is a track from The Jack Street Band. Nope, not new wave, but that fine early 80s pop rock that was brewing just off the dial of most radios, unfortunately.

And the back shows those luscious legs of hers that could wrap around you and....well, you get the point.
