From their release Beat & Torn, which feature two early LP's on one CD (Beat Music from 1982 and Torn Apart from 1984) - they continue to record and relase gems to this day. Jamie Hoover is the mastermind behind The Spongetones. He has released numerous solo CD's, collaborations with Bill Lloyd, and 2 CD's as The Van Deleckis (spelling......too lazy to look). If you dig GREAT jangly pop, sweeeeet harmonizing and luscious songs that harken back to mid-60s Liverpool, then The Spongetones are for you. While these were reissued and are in print, I thought it okay to feature here since they were in the spirit of the jangly, beatlesque pop that did see a surge in the 80s, and they have always seemed to miss out on the mass appeal they would probably have if more people could discover them.
