I would love some help with the following bands/songs from the eighties.

I hope they are obscure enough for everyone to warrant a post...

-Bif Bang Pow! Anything here would be appreciated.
-The Essence-same as above
-The Crystal set-same as above
-The Venetians-anything at all (especially Amazing World)
-The Bible-looking specifically for Skywriting, not sure how the rest of the album is.

I used to have all of these on vinyl before my "friend" sold them when I was out of the country and I've been on a desperate search sine 1990!

The Bible released 4 CD's (I think that's all??) and I think they are all charming and well worth hunting down. Even the solo works by lead vocalist Boo Hewerdine are excellent. His CD's are failry easy to come by. While they were best know for their Eureka release, the other 3 are excellent, and all four can still be purchased. Don't mean to push CD Universe, but man, thet things they carry......including all 4 Bible CD's. Here's a link. If nothing else, be amazed at the breadth and depth, and pricing, they have. I shop NOWHERE on line until I check them. Their prices are usually much lower than elsewhere. Not always, but my experience is that they are. And they have excellent customer service and people you can actually call and talk to. Imagine that for an on-line store - a massive massive one at that.

Thanks, Unguarded! Obviously, you're a Church fan. Have you picked up El Momento Descuidado by them. It's a recent release, but has some beautiful clssics done acoustic and stripped down. The versions of Unguarded Moment and Almost With You bring me close to tears!

The Crystal Set was a band with Steve Kilbey's little brother, Russell. I think I had "UmMbrella" on LP, but it's gone forever. Does anyone have anything they can post?

I have the Crystal Set CD's, but I think they can still be ordered from Red Eye in Australia. That's where I got mine years ago, but I think they still sell them.

Ouch! A Furious Mess is 26.95 plus shipping. Bummer!

I got my Crystal Set CD through Red Eye as well.

It's the one with "Benefit of the Doubt" and cost £32 [:0]

Not a bad CD though their gentler moments are better than the rockier ones.
