I just saw the video for "Water"(or MIami?). I initialyl skipped over it thinking it was the band that did "black silk stockings", but that's a diff band spelled differently.

Wow is that some weird avant garde shit. They had a CD release in '94, but long out of print.

Anyone got Water/Miami? I gotta get this. Oh is it ever good. The video even has some high heel worship with a singer that has such wide shoulders(on outfit) that outdoes the cast of Dynasty.

Glad you enjoyed the video. As I mentioned on the page, it is in fact called "Water". Rockamerica also has the video for "Miami" on another tape, but they mislabelled that video "Water". Go figure...

Anyway, I have the Clandestine Anticipation album and Water is the better of the two songs. I also had the original Clandestine Anticipation CD at one time. It was THE WORST quality CD I ever heard. It was mastered from vinyl and had so much auto-noise reduction used that it literally distorted every sound possible. I sold it on ebay, and have since created my own CD.

And this is also the band that did the excellent Black Silk Stocking. In 1980 they changed their name from Chrisma to Krisma. I have the remarkably rare Italian CD issue of their 1977 debut album Chinese Restaurant. This CD has great sound quality, and is impossible to find.

Are you or is anyone here willing to post an Mp3 of Miami and maybe some other noteworthy tunes? Im not asking for much, Im just trying to decide if that CD is worth hunting down. Or if I should just send a sizeable money order for a CD-R.

I have 5 cd's from these guys under both names. Their earlier stuff under "Chrisma" actually had Vangelis doing most production and keyboards under the AKA of Nico Papathou??? Chinese restaurant was the best and iceburg was the worst. FIDO "Nothing to do with the dog" was composed entirely on the then "NEW" DX7 standout was a remake of 10cc's "I'm not in love"

Thanks for the tracks. I had no idea they were the same band(Krisma and Chrisma). They sound a LOT different, vocals, style & everything. "Black Silk Stocking",etc was a lot more "chill" than "Water", and so forth.

'Clandestine Anticipation' was a very experimental album. Many of the songs can be difficult to listen to, though some are brilliantly bizarre (as you can tell by 'Water')

The first album 'Chinese Restaurant' is a very avante garde sound - sort of art school punk. It's spotty.
The second Chrisma album, 'Hibernation', is their crown jewel. More art school punkness, but some great melodies and strong hooks. I love all 9 songs, though the album was not the best quality pressing and after 4 copies I have yet to find one that sounds very clean and crisp.
the first Krisma album was 1980's 'Cathode Mamma'. They had a top 10 Italian hit with 'Many kisses'. This album was more electro pop/punk - some very successful, some not.
After 'Clandestine Anticipation', they released their first LP in the U.S. in 1983. 'Fido' was essentially and EP, as there were lots of short, unnecessary little instrumental doodles. Their best known song in the U.S. is 'Nothing to do with the dog'.
The next album was 1986's 'Iceberg'. This has more "real" songs than 'Fido', though several are not as good. The title track samples sounds directly from Depeche Mode's 'People are people'.
There is a rare album from 1989 titled 'Non ho denaro' which I've never heard.

Krisma returned a couple of years ago with a new single titled 'Kara'. I've not heard it.

While I own Chinese Resteraunt--its ok--didnt realize this band was the same band. Dont know what to think about Water

However--I DID enjoy Frayo in his COME BACK video.[:D]

Chrisma and also Krisma are GREATEST, guys![:p]

Hibernation is totally brilliant, all nine tracks like Rube said. The rest is just alright, though I have a major soft spot for Nothing to Do With the Dog. Such a great little tune.
