Anybody have ANYTHING from them? I've been a Boingo fan for a long time but have never seen or heard anything from "Mystic" except for what is on the dvd of the last show(s) they did.

I have all the Mystic Knight's stuff. There are a number of live recordings and some studio demos for an album that was never released. They are great. Good quality dupes to. I've got it at home so I'll post it either tonight or tomorrow.

Wow! You have everything??? How many recordings are we talking about? So there were never any "Mystic" albums? I read somewhere that there was a box of singles (45's) that were stolen at a show but have never heard of any other recordings. I'm just now starting to do my homework on this group. The stuff on the "Farewell" DVD really got me interested in the early years of the group.

Don't know anything about the box of 45s but they had a number of studio sessions. The earliest Mystic stuff if much more in the swing/lounge vein with female vocalist Ann-Marie and the whole cabaret thing. The later -- late 70s -- is more rock and roll. Some of the early tracks from this period that have emerged are "Nuclear Babies" and one about driving around. It's all quirk-out punky like the first Boingo E.P.

Have you checked out the Boingo book? Look for it on Amazon. It's called Clowns of Death. All these details are there.

I am. But it probably won't be until tonight. I have to dig around to find it. Most of the stuff I had to rip from old cassettes and I'm not sure if it's on my current comp. No worries. Anticipation only adds to the future pleasure [^]

I appreciate your efforts! Too bad nobody else has anything to add. I'd be happy just hear personal stories and such.

I have this to offer from TMKOTOB:

The Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo recorded music in 1980 for the film "Forbidden Zone," which was written and directed by Richard Elfman, Danny's older brother, from whom he took them over and formed Oingo Boingo from the ranks.

The MKOTOB also produced a novelty record called "You've Got Your Baby Back," about kidnapped heiress Patty Hearst. Don't know anything else about it? Someone??? Anyone know???
