DEXY'S - Celtic Soul Brothers

Postby Rubellan » Thu Aug 03, 2006 9:08 am

Looking for some kind soul to share a CD rip of this song, preferably compressed at over 200 KBPS, but I won't be too picky about it.

THANKS!

Here 'tis:

Well, it was here! Me make boo-boo.

I think its at 192, so I apologize for that.

There are 3 versions of this song (to my knowledge)

This version is the standard version that opened the album (and available on the remastered CD...which this is taken from)

There is a version on that remaster that sez it's the U.S. mix. The opening intro ('Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you....") is definitely louder on that mix, which is not that different from what I can tell.

Then, there is the 3rd version, which is NOT on CD. It was a U.S. promo 12" of the song with the entire intro (mentioned above) cut out and the song just started with no clapping noise, etc. If I had that version on vinyl, I'd rip it in a heartbeat, but I don't....

edit: Sorry Spaz. Rules are rules. No posting of songs that are easily found in the marketplace. Oh, and thanks for the link Blir.

Uh, gee thanks for the link Blir, but I just wanted the one song, not the whole CD. Thank you to the kind soul that sent me a link to the song. It sounds excellent. My plan is to adjust the file and layer it over the video, so it sounds as good as it looks. Of course, that won't be obvious on my YouTube site since it does compress everything to mono, but for my own collection it will be nice.

In fact, if you're interested in seeing the finished project in full quality with the new soundtrack, you can download it:

http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?a ... A002A15086

I had to extend the audio a bit because the song ends at 3:15, though the video runs silently until 3:45.
Be warned, it is 141 MB so it will take some time to download, though it is a DVD quality MPG2 file.

There's always iTunes, Rubellan. Ninety nine cents seems like a hell of an investment to keep the New Wave Outpost off the radar of the music industry watchdogs. I'm going to ask that you use a little more discretion next time. The NWO community thanks you.

You're kidding me, right? Why don't you spare us your insolence, selfishness and stupidity. While you're at it, go to another music site and try your best to shut that one down. Ass-hat.

You're right. The 100+ videos I've shared on YouTube, as well as some requested songs I've shared in this forum shows my selfishness. I can only strive to be a total loser like you. Keep going sweetie. I don't back down, unless I become bored.

I don't give a rat's ass about your videos. But you are solicting easily obtainable music from around here and arrogantly so. Like a bottom feeding leech. Plus with your air of self righteousness and beligerence, you're making my job all the more fun. Please, by all means...you keep going. I'm not wrong and not in the minority.

Well, if being in the supposed majority makes you feel a sense of acceptance and accomplishment, good for you. And if you read arrogance in anything about my 2 sentence request in this thread, then you are an open wound requiring immediate mental attention.

Uh, no...lol! Me being in the majority demonstrates that I play by the rules, as does...the majority. Something you might want to try. What's the matter with you? Not get enough attention from mommy or daddy? Hey, I have to run out for a work related meeting. I'll be back later and looking forward to more of your juvenile drivel [8D]

You just realize who started the unsolicted attack. I think it's clear that trying to make people love me is not my goal, but definitely sounds like yours. I've found you a very boring and tedious foe so if you continue to keep this thread going with your slapping and scratching, I'll order you to take a time out in the corner. Now go do something productive. This is completely useless, especially since the goal of the thread was achieve last night. And if having the last word makes you feel like the 'winner' of the battle, then by all means, post a final response.

Now that I'm back from doing something "productive" let me get back to doing something "fun". And yes, this is fun. I love letting people make asses out of themselves.

Wow, big words from someone who "won't back down".

And I don't know...was "having the last word" actually your goal? You posts had little to do with any type of defense or explanation. They were of a dismissive and insulting nature. Talk about "boring", "tedious" and "useless" [V]

Here's contradiction number two in your misguided act of defiance:

You see, this is where it was you who started with the "unsolicited attack". Yes, you attacked my authority as a moderator here and you attacked the rules of the board by ignoring them and soliciting easily obtainable music. There are practically no rules around here except for when it comes to the mp3 sharing and that is something I will enforce to the letter of the law that the administrator of this site has laid down - and that most people want.

No matter what you say Rubellan, you did wrong. What part of this forum description is unclear?

NOTE: requesting songs that are entirely unrelated to the related genres or easily found on CD is strongly discouraged and posts will be enforced as needed.

What's wrong with you? Is all this worth 99 cents? Being flippant will get you absolutely nowhere with me and does'nt make you less wrong. Sorry if I upset your fragile little ego with a little slap on the wrist and sorry to have to make an example out of you. Next time break the bank and spend a buck.

If anyone wants to send easily obtainable music to someone else, there's always e-mail. Please, just keep it off the boards.
