Buckner & Garcia are the duo of Jerry Buckner and Gary Garcia. In 1982 they released the novelty album Pac-Man Fever, consisting entirely of songs about arcade video games. The title track became a #8 hit in the United States.
When the Pac-Man Fever album was re-released on CD in 2001, Buckner and Garcia were not allowed access to their original recordings from 1982. The CD re-release instead contains modern sound-alike re-recordings of all their songs.

Ahh, good 'ol Buckner & Garcia.

You can tell where things got padded out a bit. The end of the Donkey Kong song, they just repeat things over and over.

Centipede is like some weird rock-opera like bit. The lyricist seems rather "fluffy".

Nice set of songs SIOUXMOUX!![:D] I, myself was a great ATARI fan and of course also their counterparts in the business back then like INTELEVISION, PARKER BROTHERS etc.[8D] Actually, I still have my ATARI player with Joystick at home but it is not anymore functioning. I reserve it as a display to remind me of those days.[:D]

Having got both versions, I prefer the LP as the recreations don't sound as good as the originals (and the sound effects for Mousetrap were certainly a mistake). Still all things considered, it's nice to have a conveniant version of it.

I grabbed those from Post Punk Junk a while back.....


and its good to see that other people are interested in these guys other than me. I really enjoyed Hyperspace...and how the songs in general were all related to video games.

Perfectly cheesy...I mean I couldnt share them with my friends...but I do love to play them in the ipod whilest on the way to work in the morning.
