I`m a big fan of Ian Broudie/Lightning Seeds and have just discovered that he also played in Care in the early 80s and partly in Wild Swans 1990. I only got Flaming Sword. Does anyone have one to share?

I'm sure someone has this. Let me know what you think. I sought out Care after I found out Brodie was involved, let's just say I was really disappointed, I think the Lightning Seeds material is far superior.

Care - Whatever Possessed You

An Evening in the Ray and Flaming Sword are my favourites, and for the rest of their material... well, it's not bad but as Synthpopfan and SwampThing have said, The Lightning Seeds material is better.

The songs you posted are also my faves + Flaming Sword. I am more attached to the Care than Lightning Seeds for sentimental reasons though.

"Diamonds and Emeralds" is definitely worth grabbing for any fan of Ian Broudie and Paul Simpson.

Thanks for the tracks and the info. I really enjoyed them, but there is no doubt - I prefere Lightning Seeds. About 8 years ago I was lucky to see Lightning Seeds playing in a small club in Oslo. Must admit that Wild Swans is great though.

"Diamonds and Emeralds" is a must-buy, one of the best '80s New Wave CDs you'll ever hear although I completely understand Rubbeet's "sentimental reasons" [8D] I like Care far better than the Lightning Seeds for Paul Simpson's celestial vocals alone [:D] "Whatever Possessed You" is a haunting classic.

I think a lot of Care material is now available on CD, I ran in to a bunch of their CDs on one of my frequent browsing sessions on Amazon.com

I dunno what U mean by I ran in to a bunch of their CDs... coz the only album available on Amazon is Diamonds and Emeralds. This album is so good that I got four copies, just in case eheheheh. IMO, Care is far superior than The Lightning Seeds.... Flaming Sword, My Boyish Days, Whatever Possessed You, are all new wave anthems and the only song of The Lightning Seeds which could possibly compete with them is Pure. Aside from Pure, I also like You Showed Me and All I Want then maybe The Life of Riley, Sense, Sweet Dreams and Joy.
