Now that Halloween has passed, I'm trying to put together a goth collection for next year (better late than never!)

I've got a few obvious things (Siouxsue, the Cure, Bauhaus) and a few not-as-popular (Christian Death, Einstuerzende Neubauten, Diamanda Galas).

I've gone through the list at http://naupyrata.blogspot.com/ but only found one goth blog there.

Any help is appreciated; thanks!

Maybe U can check the Goth Industrial Club Anthems [BOX SET] which is not so bad.

The Sisters Of Mercy, X-mal Deutschland and Clan of Xymox are at home; I'll need to add them in.

I forgot about The Mission; will have to dig them up.

And thanks for the links to the Goth box sets! The "Gothic Club Classics" seems to be more along the lines of what I was looking for. I find it a stretch (to put it mildly) that Bow Wow Wow and Gene Loves Jezebel would be in a collection called "Goth Industrial Club Anthems"! [:D]

Some of these may be considered "fringe" Goth bands, and I don't want to start a genre war. I recently DJed a Goth night and here are some of the bands I played:

The Cure, Bauhaus, Sisters Of Mercy, Alien Sex Fiend, Joy Division, Echo and The Bunnymen, Dead Can Dance, Love and Rockets, Siouxsie and The Banshees, Killing Joke, The Chameleons, Peter Murphy, Tones On Tail, Red Lorry Yellow Lorry, The Damnned, Misfits, Christian Death, The Cramps, Car Crash International, Project Pitchfork, Specimen, Jesus and The Mary Chain, Fields of the Nephilim, Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds, Sex Gang Children, The Creatures, Clan of Xymox, Ikon, Big Electric Cat, The Cult, Type O Negative, Gene Loves Jezebel, Tear Garden, Wolfsheim, London After Midnight, Switchblade Symphony, The Mission and Girls Under Glass.

You need some Play Dead in the collection... and some EARLY Skeletal Family.

I could add MALARIA, LADY BESERY'S GARDEN, TREES, FROZEN AUTOMN, DEATH IN JUNE, some of THIS MORTAL COIL and tracks by COCTEAU TWINS but only the dark ones, especially from Garlands...
