From 1979's The Man Who Built America, I always thought this song had major touches of The Motors and even a little Moody Blues vibe going on. Also, if you dig Barclay James Harvest, they have songs on this same release, such as 'I'll Be Waiting' that have BJH influences all over them. The track featured here is a great pop song no matter how you slice it.
