Pleez Help... Motels Request

Postby DeepOceanVastSea » Wed Nov 15, 2006 1:46 pm

Got a request...

I'm looking for the song "Killing Time" by The Motels.
It's a bit obscure and been searching for a while.

Thanks everyone! I really enjoy this forum.

That was a B-side to one of their singles if I remember correctly. Anyway, your best bet is the compilation "Sedated In The 80's Vol. 4". Lots of other good songs on there too. Here's the link:

I know it's a B-side and that's why I'm looking for it. What kinda' help is it to us for you to boost your post totals by telling people crap that's already on the net? That's why we're here at this forum!

Deep Ocean...thanks for stopping by the New Wave Outpost!

We try to keep song posts here limited to out of print material as it tends to become a bit risky to freely distribute readily available music. Medication was only being a friendly neighbor and answering your question on where to find the track. That four dollar CD is a heck of a deal on Amazon [:)]

Stick around for the REAL obscure stuff though [;)]

Why do I get the feeling that DeepOcean is not a new member but an older one who's in disguise? [:D]

Actually, you can't get any better than medication's reply when it comes to posts telling you that the song you're looking for is still commercially available. If he/she (?) had not replied, one of our pompous, insensitive, self-righteous friends would have told you to f**k off and buy the cd.

Marv, Darwinsky: Thanks for getting my back!

Eight6 would have a field day with this guy....

Deep Ocean: Buy the cd if you really want the darn song...or don't. Just trying to keep us Outposters out of copyright trouble...

I see he tried again in a new post that has since been locked. Word of advice Deep Ocean: you aren't going to get much help from anyone here if you continue to be a sarcastic, condescending a-hole. And yes, responding to posts like yours is what I live for...need to "boost" those post numbers! Sheeesh.

I dunno about DeepOceanVastSea, but I kinda like all the side information people provide about the bands and the songs. One of the things I love most about this forum is the knowledge that everyone has, and their willingness to share it. Personally, I try to buy the CD's of stuff I'm looking for; I think it's important to show the record companies that this music is still viable and should be out there for public consumption, and not to be sitting on a shelf somewhere never to see the light of day again. Of course, if it's totally unavailable elsewhere, this is a great resource.

You need me...I'm touched. Actually, I didn't want to shit on your response, seeing as you are so rarely right:

but I guess when I stay out of things one of the "better than eight6" crowd will pop off and send an invite my way.

You asked, so here I am.

So what if D.O.V.S. has a song request, so what if it's commercially available, so what if he's an asshole with his utter disrespect for board rules...hey: this must be like looking in a mirror for you Dar. Aren't you the one who posted the "fuck the rules, let's post our brains out before the mods close us down" shit a couple of months back?

Didn't you have to eat shit and apologize for those moronic posts?

So now, to make you feel like a genius Dar (enjoy it, as it will surely be the only time you experience the thrill):

Hey D.O.V.S., why don't you fuck off and buy the CD. In fact, send me a mailing address and I'll send you the $4.00 to buy it.

On a serious note: skinnytie's post perfectly captures the intent of the board, and the essence of the request process. Nicely put.

It's too bad the other thread is locked, cuz I would have posted the song there.
