Hi, and thanks for stopping by the New Wave Outpost!

This is the forum where you can find true lost classics and other obscure songs from long forgotten bands. We have a diverse group of people here who endeavor to preserve the New Wave genre through discussion, sharing memories and supporting the artists.

Now part of any musical discussion involves the actual listening and collection of the music and while there are many outlets for obtaining said music, it is all too tempting to post requests and files for otherwise commercially available songs. With all the negative attention the music industry is giving to the purveyors of illegally traded music, we feel it would be in the best interest of the NWO community to not give the RIAA or whomever any reason to shut it down or worse, enable any criminal investigation or lawsuit. To this end, let's just keep the following in mind:

- Before posting or requesting a song, make sure it is out of print (OOP), rare or hard to find. A great place to start would be iTunes, Amazon (links provided on every page of NWO) and any other music retailer you can think of like Best Buy, HMV, Virgin or the Ideal Copy.

- Oh yeah, and make sure it falls under the (pretty wide) umbrella of New Wave.

Failure to comply with these requests will result in your post being edited or deleted at the discretion of the NWO moderators. Also, we encourage contributors to share music at a minimum of 128 kbps with a 160+ or high quality VBR recommended.

Now go, have fun at Obscure 80's Central!
