....OK Canadians---I was wondering if anyone has any boot material from Rational Youth ---the snobby part is I only want 'Cold War Nightlife' era or before .... I thought there may be something in the way of unreleased studio stuff floating around...(of course I don't mean B sides or 12" mixws etc)...but I wouldnt mind the boot 12" of 'Dancing On The Berlin Wall' Thanks

Umm, actually, you can still find "Cold War Night Life" on CD floating somewhere and is 100% WORTH YOUR MONEY. I wouldn't mind trading offline for evaluation purposes though.

Just to clarify, are you looking for the Dancing on the Berlin Wall [Dutch 1984 extended edit] that is mentioned on the Rational Youth discography ? If so, I think I have it as part of the Total Rational! compilation.

I'm afraid I don't have any "demos" or unofficial stuff outside of what shows up on that discography.

Here ya go:

Rational Youth - Dancing on the Berlin Wall [Dutch 1984 extended edit]

Sorry about the Rapidshare for such a small file, but we're at the in-laws for the holidays, so my computer access isn't what it normally is.

I recently picked up the 1999 release To The Goddess Electricity and despite a minor tendancy to wallow in nostalgia (not really a crime on this board) it was a good listen. Recommended as an update to those who liked Cold War Night Life.

This blog, if you go into the archives, has a Rational Youth singles collection, as well as a lot of things, like the Nightmares on Wax release for B-Movie. I did not try to download anything except the latter, and I could not navigate the Russian text to see what to do - BUT - there may be something PC/Mac related that is causing the issue. Good luck. If you try it and get it to work, please let me know.
