Men Without Hats & The Box request

Postby the_moth » Fri Aug 10, 2007 3:23 am

Hello everyone,

Yes, I am indeed looking for a Men without Hats song, it's called "Freeways". Not sure if it came out in 1985, but the accompanying album "Freeways" is not to be bought anywhere I know. Anyways I am even more so looking for the 1981 version of the song Freeways. Watch this small snippet to know what rarity I am talking about http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h_4LMTPS0Mw

And there is another great Canadian band that is closely related to MWH: It is called 'The Box'.
Their songs "L'affaire Dumoutier (Say to Me)"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dwAWHOnrKjo
and "Crying out loud for Love" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gXbh5PZ4G3s
for example are not sold within Germany [:(]

Can anybody help me along with these?
I appreciate your efforts and also your thoughts on these songs.

Hi! If anyone needs here is the EP of "Freeways" - all 4 versions of it: Euromix, super 87 (in English), nationale 7 (in French) and Europa 8 (in German):

The song seems to be recorded in 1981, with Tracy Howe on guitar (who later went on to form Rational Youth).

Also, Jean-Marc Pizzapia from the Box was also an early MWH's member... There's a picture somewhere I think on the MWH's website of him on Keys...

Cheers,

Curiosly enough the only way to get in hold of all versions (officially released) of Freeways is the cassette release of the ep, as it contains the reissued 'Folk of the 80s' ep on the a side and all the the 'Freeways' mixes on the flip...

This seems pretty rare!
