looking for Q lazzarus single

Postby newwavepop » Sun Aug 12, 2007 3:51 am

the song goodbye horses has kind of grown a cult of its own.
being used in a creepy scene in silence of the lambs and parodied and used in clerks 2.
all i know is that q lazzarus put out 1 single with horses and a b side named white lines.
i have been trying to find this b side since at least 1992.
does anyone have it or have any kind of idea where to find it?
ive checked ebay and gemm for years.

thank you.

to the best of my knowledge it first appeared in 1988 on the soundtrack to another jonathan demme film, 'married to the mob'. the soundtrack was issued on cd, vinyl & cassette. all are out of print. i don't know if it's the actual single version per se as i've never seen the single for it, but it is a lot shorter and different than the extended mix that showed up on the retro:active comp a couple years ago. those are the only two versions i have. i'm probably in the minority when i say i was greatly disappointed with the extended mix. i just wish (not that this will probably ever happen) somebody would remaster and reissue the 'married to the mob soundtrack' as i think it has many great songs, including the best (imho) mix of new order's 'bizarre love triangle'.

HOLY--i googled White Lines to see if I could find it anywhere, and it turns out Q. Lazzurus has a myspace page. Q. Lazzarus is actually a black female singer! I had NO idea by the vocals that the person was female OR black. I always pictured a white male.

If i'm not mistaken, they were featured as the band
in Philadelphia when Tom Hanks and Antonio Banderas have a party
in their condo.

Sorry for not ripping vinyl until tonight.
I've been ripping laserdisc, beta and vhs music videos to mpeg.
This requires a complete change of hardware in the home production studio.

The pops and clicks on this track are in the original recording.
This is a clean rip from a very near mint 12"
It is intended to sound this way.

Here's her myspace page. She doesn't have white lines to listen to, just Goodbye Horses:

Could someone possibly post "White Lines" through yousendit or rapidshare instead of zshare? Zshare does not work on my computer.
