Ten Ten - Anyone Remember?

Postby mattmix » Mon Nov 19, 2007 12:50 pm

Hi,
I'm new around here. I grew up in Houston - class of 1987. I used to listen to KTRU (Rice radio) alot. In addition to PIL, Siouxsie, Killing Joke, the Fall, Love and Rockets & the Smiths, I got turned on to a lot of local bands - and other obscure bands from smaller music scenes.

I was listening to an old recording the other day and heard a song by a band "Ten Ten" - the song was titled "Your Word". Not much info out there on these guys. Apparently they were from Virginia. Does anyone else remember them?

Cheers,
Matt

I remember them--I have a copy of Walk On somewhere--it's not bad--jangle-pop with big 80s Steve Lillywhite drums.

There was a video for "When It Rains" that MTV played for a bit; they also did a fairly straight cover of The Plimsouls's "A Million Miles Away."

I found a LP of Ordinary Thinking on e-bay. It has the song I'm looking for. Looks like I'm going to have to dust off the turntable & recording gear again...

I never heard anything off Walk On this guy was not impressed with it:

Thanks,

Good obscure band from the mid 80's. I have both of their albums. Didn't know they had a video, very cool. I'll have to find it. Maybe on Youtube...

Thanks coop! A decent cover of A Million Miles Away. I remember hearing a few others - never knew it was Ten Ten.

The DJs play "When It Rains" often on WXB 102. Thanks for sharing the whole album! Now they can pick other cuts from them to spin.

Just discovered their single When It Rains - very impressed indeed.

Could someone re-upload the albums or the singles ?

Thanks. :)

Just found the time to listen to the album properly.
It was well worth it.

Thanks, Crichert. :)
