REQUEST: Erasure (a few hard to find tracks)

Wondering if anyone can help me out with some hard to find Erasure tracks!? Any of these in FLAC (or AIFF or WAV) would be awesome, but I can likely re-create some of the promo "remix/edit" tracks by using an MP3 as a guide if no lossless format is available (these promo edits are usually literally just edits of the commercially released full-length remixes).

Thank you PKPN for such a quick response to my request! I was not expecting the "Blue Savannah (Remix/Edit)" to be unique enough that I wouldn't be able to simply re-create it by editing the Mark Saunders remix from the Erasure singles box set. But that's actually cool, because that means it's truly it's own special remix - and one that I've never heard. I have just now found and bought a very reasonably priced copy of the promo CD this mix is from.

I re-created the "Star (The Trafalmadore Mix Edit)" last night, thanks to your share! Another promo-only mix I had never heard, and fortunately, that one IS just a series of creative edits from the full-length version. A very nice radio edit actually!

...were not promos but commercially released and still available on Amazon, ridiculously cheap.

(And for that matter, the "Dick Tracy" soundtrack can be had there for as little as a penny!)

I don't see how the Follow Our Trax CDs weren't promos. They all had PRO-CD-xxxx catalog numbers, they said Promotion Only / Not For Sale on them, they didn't have barcodes, a fair amount of their content overlapped with the Sire 'Just Say' series ... people are selling secondhand copies on Amazon.

I stand corrected -- the Follow Our Trax series were promos. I just remember them being so easily obtainable (and still are) that I assumed they were like the Just Say series.

Valid question! I'm pretty darn anal when it comes to sound quality in my own personal collection. So quite often I will take older (usually rare promo) mixes/edits and recreate them using more current remastered versions - in this case, the Erasure Singles Box version. It's just a personal preference plus I enjoy the task of actually doing the edits. Weird to some I suppose, but it's somewhat of a hobby of mine. I've been able to create CD-based edits of rare 7" or 12" edits that have never seen the light of day on CD as well. Like Kraftwerk's "Tour De France" 7" edits (which are just edits of the full length versions released on CD in 1999) and their "Musiq Non Stop" 7" and 12" versions which are just edits of the album version. Stuff like that...

Cool, thanks for clarification. Have you ever shared the Kraftwerk edits here? I am after all Kraftwerk edits as the group won't bloody release them! Seen Kraftwerk 5 times 2013, London. 4 times 2014, Vienna. Twice in 2015, Amsterdam. Want their stuff from 1997 released, the new album, CD of single versions and an 8 x 3D Blu ray set of The Catalogue shows. I actually met both Ralf and Falk in January (Amsterdam)

I'm wondering how anal you really get with your edits. If a splice point was slightly ahead or behind the beat, do you replicate that error? How much effort do you put into simulating the crossfade and channel delay effects caused by different kinds of tape splices? Do you crossfade? Do you ever edit one channel slightly ahead of the other, time-wise?
