REQUEST: Goldfrapp "Strict Machine" Ewan Pearson Vocal

I know this isn't technically New Wave, but I suspect many fans of New Wave/Synthpop may also be fans of Goldfrapp, as am I.

I am looking for "Strict Machine (Ewan Pearson Extended Vocal)" 8:48 from the UK Promo CD-Single http://www.discogs.com/Goldfrapp-Strict ... ase/252410

This is another case of the best remix remaining hidden away on promo only releases. I have a mediocre vinyl rip in MP3, but if anyone can share this from the Promo CD in WAV, AIFF or FLAC, that would be AWESOME!

Thank you for sharing this Sundayguy. I am curious about the source of this track? It appears to be the same as the MP3 that I have, as it seems to be the same vinyl rip (while it's a decent transfer, there is clearly a good deal of surface noise). I know some official compilation CD's still may use vinyl sources, especially if the original digital master is hard to get. Wondering if that's the case with this track.

I have the Ewan Pearson Instrumental Remix which is a variation of this mix and it is definitely from a digital master, not vinyl. So I just naturally assumed the UK Promo CDS mixes were all from digital masters. Was this a erroneous assumption, at least with this particular mix?

I don't want to sound ungrateful lol. This is definitely a step up from the MP3 I have (I just detest the MP3 format!), so I do appreciate the WAV format!!!

Hey Fred,

Without saying too much about the source, it DID say CD was the source, but then again
I'd suppose it's common to not always find files that are exactly what they advertise.

I took a look around, and only found what I'd assume is the same sourced file, over again,
so am guessing somewhere down the chain it had been mislabeled and left that way.

Since I don't really want to go and fetch them all, and then weed through to see if any
are really from the promo CD I did the next best thing, and cleaned up the version I had.

If sourced from vinyl, as suggested, then you probably won't notice as much, as the
file has been cleaned up, some. Should hold you over, until an actual CD rip turns up.

I can't even remember where I found the MP3 that I have but I have also done some scouring and everything turns up being the same "rip" as the MP3 I already have. I'm assuming the mix was popular despite not being commercially released, so someone probably did a vinyl transfer from a promo 12" and it went "viral" in online trading.
